Small Business Seeds for Growth: Marketplace and Resource Pathway Fair

The Business Development & Entrepreneurship Division at the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio Enlists the Help of Huntington National Bank to Plant Seeds for Growth into Small Businesses

CINCINNATI, Ohio—May 11, 2022— The Business Development & Entrepreneurship (BD&E) Division at the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, in partnership with Huntington National Bank, is proud to announce that the Small Business Seeds for Growth: Marketplace and Resource Pathway Fair event will be held on June 15, 2022, at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

BD&E is eager to bring this event to life in effort to connect under-resourced small businesses to capital and other resources while creating and building trust and transparency within the community.

“Huntington is proud to partner with the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio as the lead sponsor of the Small Business Seeds for Growth event,” said Kevin Jones, Southern Ohio/Northern Kentucky region president. “Building relationships with small business owners and providing access to capital and business planning support are key components of our Lift Local Business program.”

With a robust schedule of events planned, Small Business Seeds for Growth will highlight the following:
• Small Business Marketplace
• Panel sessions with small business owners and resource partners
• Resource Partner Pathway
• Networking opportunities

The BD&E team has put a tremendous amount of research, planning, and care into producing this event and they look forward to sharing this with the community and helping small businesses gain the capital that they need.

“We’re excited to produce this in-person event – to connect under-resourced small businesses to the resources needed to grow their businesses. We’re looking forward to watching how the businesses will connect with the resource providers and each other as they learn tips to thrive and excel in the Cincinnati area,” said Sheila A. Mixon, Senior Vice President | Business Development & Entrepreneurship, Executive Director | Women’s Business Enterprise Council Ohio River Valley.

The Small Business Seeds for Growth marks the first in-person event for BD&E since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. While connecting virtually proved to be a challenge, they still managed to make an impact from behind the screen. Now, with the appropriate protocols put in place, they are ready to physically get back into the community and continue their work of empowering small businesses to succeed.

This event is free to the public and will take place at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College Conference Center – Main Building on June 15, 2022. Registration is now open at www.cincinnatieec.com/seedsforgrowth/
